Privacy Policy - vipn.io

Last updated: May 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what limited information vipn.io collects and uses to operate the service. Our core commitment remains the same: we do not keep logs of your browsing activity or VPN traffic. We do, however, store account, subscription, and support information needed to run the app, assist users, and support in-app account deletion.

1. No-Logs Commitment

vipn.io does not log or store VPN activity data such as:

  • Browsing history
  • Traffic content
  • DNS queries
  • VPN session timestamps
  • VPN session duration

Our no-logs commitment applies to VPN usage data. It does not mean we collect no operational data at all.

2. Information We Collect

We collect limited information required to operate the service and support users.

2.1 Device and Account Metadata

We may store:

  • Device ID
  • App version
  • Device type
  • Device model
  • Country code
  • Preferred language
  • Current subscription tier
  • Last active timestamp

This information is used to manage accounts, keep the service working, and provide support.

2.2 Product Interaction Data

We may collect limited in-app product interaction and subscription-flow usage data, linked to your account, to understand how VIPN is used, improve the app experience, and maintain service reliability. We do not use this data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2.3 Apple Sign-In Information

If you sign in with Apple, we may store Apple-linked account information returned to us by Apple, including your name and email address when available.

2.4 Subscription and Billing Data

Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store billing. We may store subscription-related metadata such as:

  • Product IDs
  • Transaction IDs
  • Renewal or expiry status
  • Validation metadata needed to manage access and reconcile billing

We do not store full payment card details.

2.5 Support Content

When you contact us through the app, we may store:

  • In-app support chat messages
  • Bug report text
  • Optional bug report attachments you choose to send

This information is used to investigate issues and respond to support requests.

2.6 Optional Speed Test Feature

If you choose to use the in-app Speed Test tool, the app sends temporary test requests to Cloudflare speed test endpoints to measure ping, download, and upload performance.

This helps provide fast, reliable diagnostic results so you can better understand your current connection quality. It is an optional feature and is used only to deliver the requested speed test result.

2.7 VIPN Assistant and Voice Mode

VIPN includes an optional in-app assistant that can help you understand the app, answer VPN and privacy questions, and run supported VIPN tools such as connect, disconnect, status, route selection, and certain settings changes.

VIPN Assistant exchanges may be sent to vipn.io servers for internal product analytics, quality, and support. They are not sent to third-party AI providers for AI processing. When supported on your device, assistant understanding may use Apple's on-device intelligence features. VIPN may also use built-in app logic and local product data such as your current connection state, available servers, selected settings, and in-app FAQ content to answer requests.

If you choose to use Voice Mode, microphone and speech recognition permissions are used only to understand your spoken request inside the app. VIPN does not store voice recordings or transmit assistant conversations to our servers for AI processing.

2.8 Optional Protection Features

VIPN may offer optional Protection features, including Malware Protection and Family Mode, while VIPN is connected.

Malware Protection is designed to help block known harmful destinations, such as malware, phishing, scam, and other unsafe sites.

Family Mode is designed to help block adult content as well as harmful or unsafe destinations. When you choose to use these features, VIPN may use Cloudflare services to provide the requested protection. We do not use these features to keep browsing logs or store your VPN activity.

3. Permissions and Service Operation

3.1 VPN Permission

VPN permission is required to establish the encrypted VPN tunnel used by the service.

3.2 IP Addresses and Connection Status

IP addresses may be used transiently to operate the service and related networking features.

We do not store public IPs as persistent browsing or VPN activity logs.

We may track simplified connection availability as online or offline to help manage service availability and user access.

3.3 In-App Account Deletion

You can initiate account deletion inside the app from the Settings screen.

When you delete your account, we revoke access, remove stored support chats, bug reports, and uploaded attachments, and anonymize the account record that may still be needed for billing reconciliation or legal compliance. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel App Store subscriptions.

3.4 Microphone and Speech Recognition

Microphone and speech recognition access are optional permissions used only if you choose to use VIPN Voice Mode.

These permissions allow the app to interpret spoken requests such as connecting, disconnecting, checking status, or asking app-related questions. Declining these permissions does not prevent normal VPN use.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and maintain the app and VPN service
  • Manage sign-in, account recovery, and subscription access
  • Validate purchases and keep billing status in sync
  • Understand product interaction and subscription-flow performance
  • Respond to support chats and bug reports
  • Provide optional in-app assistant and voice interactions on-device
  • Maintain service reliability and troubleshoot issues

We do not sell personal information or build browsing profiles from VPN traffic.

5. Data Sharing

We share limited information only when needed to operate the service.

  • Apple, for App Store billing and Apple Sign-In
  • Cloudflare, when you choose to use optional features such as Speed Test or Protection
  • Infrastructure and service providers used to host, secure, and operate vipn.io

We do not sell, rent, or share your VPN browsing activity because we do not keep those logs.

We also do not send VIPN Assistant conversations or voice recordings to third-party AI services.

6. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as it is needed for legitimate service purposes, including:

  • Account and device metadata while needed to operate your account and service access
  • Subscription metadata while needed for entitlement checks, billing reconciliation, and records
  • Support messages, bug reports, and attachments while needed for support and recordkeeping

If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize account data that is no longer needed to run the service.

We do not retain persistent browsing or VPN activity logs.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect stored information, including:

  • Encrypted communications where applicable
  • Access controls
  • Operational monitoring and maintenance

No system is completely immune from risk, but we work to keep the service secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for individuals under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly target children.
